Salary Calculations
12 Month Employee Calculation
The State 12 month employee’s salary is budgeted as an annual amount within a fiscal year. The annual salary is for 365 days and paid on a bi-weekly basis. The bi-weekly pay consists of 14 days. To arrive at a correct bi-weekly salary rate you must divide the annual salary by the pay period factor:
Non-Leap Year Calculations
- To compute the biweekly salary for 12 month employees divide the annual salary by 26.071428
- To compute the hourly rate divide the biweekly amount by 80
- To compute the daily rate divide the biweekly amount by 10
Leap Year Calculations
- To compute the biweekly salary for 12 month employees divide the annual salary by 26.142857
- To compute the hourly rate divide the biweekly amount by 80
- To compute the daily rate divide the biweekly amount by 10
9 Month Employees, 9/12 Employees & Contract Calculations
- To compute the biweekly salary for 9 month graduate assistants divide the annual salary by 22 equal pays or based on the specific period for the contract. A Graduate Assistant will be in a 12 month position if the contract is in payroll 26, 1, 2 or 3.
- To compute the biweekly salary for 9 month faculty who are paid over 12 months, divide the salary by 26 equal pays (ex: payroll 4 – payroll 3)
- To compute the biweekly salary for faculty who work per semester divide the annual salary by 11 equal pays or based on the specific period for the contract.
