Students Enrolled in SHIP

Students enrolled in the Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP) are generally not responsible for co-pay, coinsurance, or deductibles for healthcare-related visits at the University Health Center.

Students enrolled in SHIP may still be responsible for costs related to:

  • Prescription medications sent electronically to a local pharmacy
  • External laboratory testing processed by LabCorp
  • Appointments with external healthcare providers
  • Services received outside the University Health Center

Students should review their Coverage & Benefits, Plan Details, and FAQs regarding their Student Health Insurance Plan with United Healthcare.

Students with Unaccepted or Out-of-Network Insurance

Students with insurance plans that are not accepted or are considered out-of-network may still receive care at the University Health Center.

All charges not covered by the student's insurance carrier are the student's responsibility. Out-of-network insurance plans may result in higher out-of-pocket costs.

A discounted rate for services may be available only to students registered for classes. This discount does not apply to external laboratory work, prescription medications, medical procedures, or medical devices.

Self-Pay / No Insurance

Students without accepted health insurance may receive services as self-pay patients.

A typical self-pay office visit, excluding procedures, external laboratory work, prescription medications, medical devices, or additional services, generally ranges from approximately $50 to $300.

Self-pay rates are available only to currently registered students.

Self-pay fees are subject to change without notice and may vary based on the services provided.
