His work stands at the crossroads of theoretical reflection and historical analysis. Currently, his research concerns the critique of ideology, particularly as it relates to social revolutions, and a reexamination of Marxist theories of imperialism. His doctoral dissertation, entitled “From National Liberation to Social Revolution: Class Struggle, Anti-Imperialism, Ideology, and the Socialist Movement in Iran,” deals with these questions through an analysis of the experience of the socialist movement in the Iranian Revolution.
