Health Insurance Waiver

Morgan State University is pleased to offer our students and their families a Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP) through United Healthcare that complies with the student insurance requirements under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act at an affordable premium.

The Student Health Insurance waiver period for the Fall 2023- Spring 2024 Academic Year begins July 1, 2023. To submit the Fall 2023-Spring 2024 Student Health Insurance Waiver, Click Here. Log-in with your Morgan State University credentials. Select WAIVE and complete all required fields.

All full-time undergraduate students taking 12 or more credit hours and J-1 Visa Exchange Students and scholars are automatically enrolled and billed each semester for the SHIP when registed for 12 or more credits. The Fall semester charge is $493 and the Spring semester charge is $670. Students who have comparable health insurance coverage, are required to waive out of the student health insurance plan before the waiver deadline.

All Full-Time Undergraduate Students that have not successfully completed the Fall 2023-Spring 2024 Student Health Insurance Waiver during the waiver eligibility period will automatically be enrolled in the plan and the Student Health Insurance charge will remain on their student bill.

The Fall 2023- Spring 2024 Student Health Insurance Waiver period begins July 1, 2023 and closes October 31, 2023.
