Ms. Okolo holds an MFA degree from Vermont College of Fine Arts, a Bachelor of Law from the Nigerian Law School and an LLB (Hons) from the University of Abuja, Nigeria. Her major field of study at Morgan is Multicultural and Gender Studies, with a minor in Creative Writing. She is interested in the lived human experience, feminism, gender, identity, and the historical and literary impact of African, African-American, and Caribbean people, with emphasis on Igbo culture and its women; pre-colonial, post-colonial, and contemporary. She is interested in authors such as Buchi Emecheta, Chinua Achebe, Flora Nwapa, Toni Morrison, Richard Wright, Aminatta Forna, Jamaica Kincaid, and Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie.
