Abdoulaye Mbaye is a lecturer in the Department of English and Language Arts at Morgan State University from 2007 to 2011 and from 2017 to present. He was an Assistant Professor of English at Qassim University, Buraidah, Saudi Arabia, from 2012 to 2016.

He earned his B.A. and M.A. in English at Cheikh Anta Diop University, Dakar, Senegal and his Ph.D. in Language, Literacy and Culture (LLC) at the University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC).

He is former Fulbright Exchange Teacher in Guam, USA. He also took a four-month course on Curriculum Design and Instructional Materials Development in Madras, India in 1992.
