Eligibility/How to Apply for Federal Workstudy
Eligibility
- Must file the FAFSA Application for the academic cyear and be eligblie for federal aid
- Student must have an EFC of less than $13,000
- Must have a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher (does not apply to incoming freshman or transfer students)
- Must be enrolled at least half-time (6 or more credits)
- Must demonstrate financial need and have unmet need ( room in budget)
Students Ineligible for Federal Work Study are
- International Students
- International students are not eligible to receive Federal Work Study; however they are eligible for campus employment and must have a social security card and a valid work visa.
- Students with a G.P.A. below 2.0
- Students who do not demonstrate a financial need for work study as determined by the federal workstudy staff per utilizing the EFC requirements.
How To Apply
- Go to your student Handshake Profile and select “Jobs” in the top left corner.
- Click on “All Filters” at the top of the screen.
- Choose "Work Study" and then click "Show results." All active Work Study jobs in Handshake will be displayed.
- Click the blue APPLY button for the desired job
- Attach your fall schedule (required), resume, or FWS application.

We encourage you to complete the 2024-2025 FAFSA as soon as today if you have not completed it as of yet. For new students with correct FAFSA information, we anticipate being able to send award notices by the end of April. For continuing students with correct FAFSA information, we expect to be able to make awards beginning the first week in June.
