Morgan Alum Alicia Hynson Prepares to go From the Lab to the Delivery Room

Alicia Hynson is a traveling lab scientist. She spends, on average, 13 weeks at a time in hospital labs in remote locations around the United States and overseas. She initially majored in biology at Morgan State University in Baltimore, with her sights on medical school. At the advice of her mentors, she considered how gaining lab experience would be the quicker path to employment and graduated from Morgan with a bachelor’s in medical technology.

Shelonda Stokes’ career has come full circle since her days as an East Baltimore teen who cleaned pavilions in Baltimore’s Harborplace for minimum wage. With a degree in electrical engineering from Morgan State University, Stokes had spent much of her professional life seeking creative ways to solve problems, including as president and CEO of GreiBO Media, a Baltimore-based marketing and production studio she co-founded in 2001.

Morgan Alum Shapes Narrative for Nat Geo Black History Series as Editor

Morgan State University has given Carla Wills many opportunities to explore her interests, from STEM to history to journalism. This week, the veteran journalist is celebrating her role as executive editor of a new series from National Geographic that challenged her to utilize much of the knowledge and many of the skills she has gained in those areas.
