D’Angela “Dia” Simms doesn’t believe in leaning in. She thinks the concept of trying to sit at the decision-making table and seizing the opportunity once it arises historically hasn’t worked for women and racial minorities. She believes in building her own table — a bigger one.
Hospitality Management Training for HBCUs Launched at Upscale Hotel
Building on the company’s commitments to increasing diversity across the hospitality industry, Choice Hotels International, Inc. and Concord Hospitality Enterprises Company are sponsoring a hospitality management training program for recent students graduating from HBCUs. Morgan State alumnae Je’lynn Gould and Oshan Donegal are the first to participant in the hospitality management training program.
Morgan Alum Tapped For Federal Post
Larry D. Turner was sworn in as the inspector general of the U.S. Department of Labor, following his nomination by the president and confirmation by the U.S. Senate. As head of the Office of Inspector General, Turner is responsible for overseeing the administration of a nationwide, independent program of audits and investigations involving U.S. Department of Labor programs and operations.
