Dr. Candice Marshall has been the actuarial science program director in the Department of Mathematics at Morgan State University, the only HBCU with a BSc in Actuarial Science since August 2018. Under her leadership, Morgan State University successfully initiated several actuarial and insurance professional organizations including a Gamma Iota Sigma chapter and the International Association of Black Actuaries chapter. At the 2020 national conference, the Alpha Xi Chapter of Gamma Iota Sigma received the most improved chapter award.

Dr. Marshall's primary research areas are Algebra and Combinatorics, particularly Riordan Group Theory. Her most recent publication in the Applicable Analysis journal can be found by clicking here. More recently, she has been working as the lead researcher on a team of 3 after being approved for a Leveraging Big Data grant sponsored by UNCF, Excelencia and the Coleridge Initiative. Dr. Marshall continues to stay connected to industry both through her professional development efforts and through projects at The Travelers.

Dr. Marshall holds a BSc in Mathematics, MA in Mathematics and a PhD in Industrial and Computational Mathematics all from Morgan State University.
