Student Responsibilities
Follow all rules outlined in the Code of Student Conduct and other university policies.
Avoid actions that infringe upon the rights, safety, or dignity of fellow students, faculty, staff, and community members.
Avoid cheating, plagiarism, fabrication, and other forms of academic dishonesty.
Adhere to directives from faculty, staff, law enforcement, and other university representatives.
Avoid behavior that disrupts teaching, research, or other normal or routine university operations.
Provide truthful information and avoid falsifying documents or misrepresenting facts.
Use university facilities and resources responsibly and avoid theft, vandalism, or misuse.
Follow fire safety protocols and avoid tampering with safety equipment or triggering false alarms.
Refrain from unauthorized possession, use, or distribution of drugs or alcohol, especially on university premises/associated premises.
Behave in a manner that reflects the university’s mission, vision and core values at all times, both on and off campus
Comply with federal, state, and local laws in addition to university policies.
Refrain from engaging in harassment, threats, or conduct that discriminates based on race, gender, religion, or other protected characteristics.
Avoid participating in or supporting hazing in any form.
Promptly, report violations of the Code of Conduct or other safety concerns to the Office of Student Rights and Responsibilities and/or to MSUPD.

Cooperate with investigations, respect confidentiality, and abide by the outcomes, directives or sanctions imposed.
Do not take negative action against any person or group as a way to get back at them for something- especially if it is because they reported an incident, participated in an investigation, or stood up for their own rights or someone else's rights.
Avoid behavior that could lead to probation, suspension, or expulsion, which can affect academic and extracurricular participation.
Ensure that guests on campus comply with university rules, as students are held responsible for the conduct of their guests.
