What is Hazing
Hazing is any intentional, knowing, or reckless act—whether committed by an individual or a group—directed at a current or prospective student and occurring in connection with initiation, maintaining membership in, or affiliating with any student organization, team, or group, whether officially recognized or not.
Hazing Policy
Morgan State University prohibits hazing in all forms and is committed to fostering a safe, respectful, and inclusive campus environment. The policy is established in accordance with the Stop Campus Hazing Act of 2024 (Public Law 118-1, amending 20 U.S.C. § 1092(f)), Maryland Criminal Law § 3-607, and the Code of Student Conduct. It applies to all students, student organizations, and student groups, whether formally recognized or not.
Report Hazing
The welfare and safety of all individuals within the campus community constitute the University's highest priority. All Morgan State University students, faculty, staff, and community members are responsible for reporting hazing incidents.
