Historically black colleges and universities, largely known as HBCUs, have long stood as a beacon of opportunity for Black students across the nation. These revered institutions served as foundational spaces where careers were forged and these four individuals all found their life paths while attending their respective HBCUs while adding to that rich and lasting legacy. For this story, Cassius spoke with a talented quartet of individuals across several industries within the tech, sports, fashion, and entertainment sectors, included among which was Morgan alum - DJ Heat.

Morgan State University to Build 604-Bed Student Housing Complex
Morgan State University plans to build a new residential tower to house more than 600 students, a necessity for one of the fastest-growing schools in the region. The 604-bed tower will be built adjacent to the recently completed Thurgood Marshall Housing complex and a 30,000-square-foot dining hall. The additional tower is projected to cost $110 million, according to documents filed with the Maryland Board of Public Works.

Larry Gibson, an attorney and historian, was personally asked to curate the new student housing complex at Morgan State University in honor of Baltimore native Thurgood Marshall. The exhibits to his legacy are located on each floor of the building for students to ponder.
Baltimore Medical System to be Clinical Teaching Arm for Proposed Morgan State Medical School
Baltimore Medical System (BMS), the largest Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) system in Maryland, reached an agreement with the proposed school of Maryland College of Osteopathic Medicine at Morgan State University to serve as the school’s community health clinical teaching arm.
