WSSC Water Names Kishia L. Powell as General Manager

Ushering in a new era of leadership, stakeholder engagement and strategic opportunities, WSSC Water’s Board of Commissioners announced Kishia L. Powell as WSSC Water’s next General Manager/CEO. Powell is a registered Professional Engineer and has a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Morgan State University’s Clarence M. Mitchell, Jr., School of Engineering.

20 Years After ‘Drumline,’ HBCU Bands Credit Film for Boosting Visibility

The film, "Drumline," which celebrates its 20th anniversary this year, gave audiences a small glimpse into the structure and culture of marching bands and dance ensembles at HBCUs such as Benedict, Morgan State University and Howard University. State Allocates 11 Million Annually Fund New Research Centers at Morgan State University

With help of funding from the State of Maryland, Morgan State University has set up five new research institutes to solve societal problems, the university announced in a statement Monday. The Centers for Cybersecurity Assurance and Policy (CAP), Center Urban Health Equity (CUHE), Center for Equitable Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Systems (CEAMLS), Center for Data Analytics and Sports Gaming Research, and Center for Urban Violence and Crime Reduction address a variety of societal challenges and help Morgan achieve its goal of becoming a prestigious research doctoral university.

Dr. Paul B. Tchounwou Named New Dean of Morgan State University’s School of Computer, Mathematical and Natural Sciences

Morgan State University President David K. Wilson and Provost Hongtao Yu today announced the appointment of internationally-recognized biomedical research scientist Paul B. Tchounwou, D.Sc., as the new dean of the School of Computer, Mathematical and Natural Sciences (SCMNS), effective January 1, 2023.
