Dr. Nilajah Nyasuma Sims currently serves as the Executive Director for the Center for Continuing and Professional Studies (CCPS).   In this capacity,  Dr. Nyasuma Sims is responsible for the administration of the CCPS including directing the programs and initiatives to address the lifelong educational needs of traditional and non-traditional students pursuing undergraduate, graduate, professional, and personal growth opportunities at Morgan State University. These programs and initiatives include, but are not limited to the Bernard Osher and Crankstart Foundations Scholarships, Improved Opportunities for Parents, Alpha Sigma Lambda National Honor Society, Continuing Education Units, Non-Credit Programs, and Summer Programs.  Dr. Nyasuma Sims also serves as the National Councilor for the Alpha Sigma Lamba National Honor Society for non-traditional students.

Dr. Nyasuma Sims' career has included diverse experiences in the field of human service: education, casework, program management, program evaluation, and consultation.  Most notably, she served as a congressional caseworker for Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC). Common among her professional experiences is a commitment to increasing the life chances and educational opportunities of traditionally underserved populations. 

Dr. Nyasuma Sims earned a master's degree in Human Services from Lincoln University and a doctorate degree in Urban Educational Leadership with a concentration in Administration and Planning from Morgan State University.
