ASCEND Center for Biomedical Research
MoSI
The Summer Institute on Scientific Teaching at Morgan State is cosponsored by the School of Computer, Mathematical, and Natural Sciences and the NIH-funded ASCEND and IRACDA Programs, and is in partnership with the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning at Morgan State University.
The Summer Institute will expand and sharpen participants' teaching skills through workshops facilitated by national science education experts. This local training institute follows the curriculum of the nationally renowned Summer Institute for Scientific Teaching [https://www.summerinstitutes.org] and is designed to provide evidence-based strategies to help faculty transform their teaching to increase student learning and achievement.
A limited number of spaces are available to take part in this prestigious program for faculty who are committed to transforming their teaching practices and improving student learning and achievements. Participants will develop original, innovative classroom materials ready for immediate implementation, receive certification as 2019 Scientific Teaching Fellows at the end of the institute, and be prepared to serve as instructional leaders for your school and the university.
MSU deans and chairs are encouraged to nominate faculty members to participate. Send your nominations to Scientific.Teaching@morgan.edu by March 15, 2019.
Workshop Dates: May 20-24, 2019; 9:30 am - 4:30 pm daily (on Monday, noon to 4:30)
Location: Key Hall Rm 155
Application form: http://bit.ly/MorganExcellence
