Welcome to the Department of Advanced Studies, Leadership, and Policy in the School of Education and Urban Studies. We are committed to excellence in graduate studies in the field of education. It is a unique entity within the university structure in that it is entirely focused on advanced degrees and annually produces the largest number of doctoral graduates of any department within the university.
These programs are dedicated to the preparation of a cadre of educational leaders who are committed to effecting positive transformation at all levels of education. The specific focus of all of these programs is the urban context, a fact that is evident in the department's research agenda which is dedicated to informing policy and practice in urban educational systems. New students will find the department to be one that nurtures an active community of scholars and practitioners and provides numerous opportunities for personal and professional growth.

The incumbent will teach STEM-related courses, guide doctoral students in conceptualizing, implementing, and writing research for dissertations, and perform other administrative functions. The candidate should be willing and able to serve as program director.

The faculty member will teach in the field of Urban Educational Leadership. This position is tenured/tenure track at the rank of Associate Professor. The candidate should be willing and able to serve as program director.

The faculty member will teach graduate-level courses in the community college leadership program, conduct research, serve on dissertation committees as chair or member, advise students, and attend required program, department, and university meetings.

(5790) Tenure-Track Assistant/Associate Professor- Quantitative Methodologist
The faculty member will teach quantitative courses across the different program areas. This may include courses such as Quantitative Research Methods and Using Large Data Sets, as well as supervising quantitative dissertations. Depending on need, the faculty member might also be asked to teach in their individual discipline/program area.
