Administration

The Administration function within the Office of Safety, Health, and Environment (OSHE) serves as the operational and compliance hub that ensures the department’s programs run efficiently

and meet all regulatory requirements. Administrative staff manage strategic planning, budgeting, and resource allocation to align safety, health, environmental, and emergency initiatives with university goals. They oversee policy and compliance documentation, maintain detailed records, and coordinate communication and outreach to the campus community. Administration also handles training coordination, meeting and event management, data tracking, and provides critical support to technical teams. In emergency management, they maintain essential documentation, manage contact lists, and assist with drills and alert dissemination.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Strategic Planning & Oversight – Developing annual OSHE goals, aligning programs with university objectives, and tracking performance metrics.

  • Budgeting & Resource Management – Preparing and managing the departmental budget, tracking expenditures, and overseeing contracts for safety and environmental services.

  • Policy & Compliance Administration – Maintaining policies, SOPs, and compliance records; ensuring adherence to OSHA, NFPA, EPA, and state regulations.

  • Records & Documentation – Managing safety training logs, inspection reports, incident investigations, environmental permits, and hazardous materials documentation.

  • Communication & Outreach – Issuing safety alerts, newsletters, and memos; managing the OSHE website and resource portals.

  • Training Coordination – Scheduling required training, tracking participation, and issuing certificates.

  • Meeting & Event Management – Organizing safety committee meetings, drills, and awareness events; preparing agendas, minutes, and follow-ups.

  • Data Tracking & Reporting – Monitoring KPIs, analyzing incident trends, and preparing regular reports for leadership.

  • Technical Team Support – Scheduling inspections, audits, and site visits; tracking work orders for safety equipment maintenance.

  • Emergency Management Support – Maintaining COOP documentation, updating emergency contact lists, and assisting with drills, exercises, and alert communications.
