Hopkins-MSU Cancer Research Summer Program

Overview

This is the third year of an internship program between Johns Hopkins Cancer Research Center and the Morgan State University (MSU) Office of Undergraduate Research, which will provide students at MSU an opportunity to work in a research lab at Hopkins. Selected MSU students will engage in interdisciplinary faculty-mentored research with Hopkins faculty during Summer 2024. The program extends to other HBCUs in the area as well. Applicants will be interviewed by interested faculty mentors, and the 8- week internship is anticipated to take place from June 3– July 26, 2024.

As one of the goals of the Hopkins-MSU Cancer Research Summer Program is to diversify the next generation of oncologists and cancer researchers, individuals from groups identified as underrepresented in the biomedical, clinical, behavioral, and social sciences, such as underrepresented racial and ethnic groups, individuals with disabilities, and women, are strongly encouraged to apply. For more information, please refer to Populations Underrepresented in the Extramural Scientific Workforce.

The purpose of the Hopkins-MSU Cancer Research Summer Program is to increase the pipeline of underrepresented students aspiring to pursue careers in cancer research and/or oncology.

THE DEADLINE HAS BEEN EXTENDED TO FEBRUARY 2, 2024.
