Adjunct Faculty Hiring

New Hiring Process for Adjunct Faculty

The Office of Human Resources has enhanced the Morgan Employment Management System (MEMS) to include adjunct faculty postings. The streamlined approval business process for adjunct faculty postings only requires the approval of the chair and dean. This will allow human resources to expeditiously post for an adjunct faculty department position so that department chairs will have a continuous pool of candidates for your staffing needs.

New Adjunct Faculty

The hiring of NEW adjunct faculty is initiated by submitting the **NEW** Adjunct Faculty Employee ID Setup form and completing the OHR New/Returning Adjunct Faculty Tracking through the Google form link.

Submitting these forms will trigger HR-Academic Affairs to submit a background check and complete the employee set-up. Once the employee setup is complete, HR-Academic Affairs will provide the hiring department with the necessary information to complete an EPAF

If there are any concerns about the Adjunct Faculty background check, HR-Academic Affairs will contact the hiring department directly.

MEMS Postings for Adjunct Faculty Hiring

As of March 24, 2025, all new adjunct faculty must have an application submitted through our MEMS system.

Departments are encouraged to create adjunct faculty candidate pools within MEMS, allowing their candidates to complete department- or school-specific applications. Those candidate pools can be initiated by submitting a request using the Adjunct Faculty Candidate Pool Set-up using the provided Google form link.

If there is no Adjunct Faculty pool available within the MEMS system. In that case, HR-Academic Affairs will provide the candidate with a **For HR Use Only** Adjunct Faculty application link to complete their application.

Current and Returning Adjunct Faculty

Returning adjunct faculty member who has had no break in employment, or it has been less than 12 months since the end of the last adjunct faculty contract date, then you will ONLY need to submit the OHR New/Returning Adjunct Faculty Tracking form through the Google form link and initiate the EPAF for the new contract.

If it has been more than 12 months since the end of the last contract date, the Adjunct Faculty member will be required to complete a new background check, which will be sent to them once you have submitted the OHR New/Returning Adjunct Faculty Tracking Google form. You are encouraged to then submit the EPAF. If there are any concerns regarding the background check, HR-Academic Affairs will contact you directly.
