When Should I Apply for FMLA?
- have worked 1250 hours over the previous 12 months.
-placement with the employee of a child for adoption or foster care;
-necessary care for the employee’s spouse, child or parent with a serious health
condition, or an adult child who cannot care for himself or herself;
-a serious health condition** that makes an employee unable to perform the functions of
the employee’s job; and
-to assist specified family members of covered military members with active duty family
leave and/or injured service member leave.
*Lactation Rooms on Campus: Behavioral Social Science Center 101 and Tyler Hall 103 (behind tour room next to single-use restroom)
**Serious health condition means absence from work of more than 3 days or a chronic
health condition.
