Scholarship Programs

We are currently accepting applications for the NSF CyberCorps Scholarship for Service (SFS) Program. An eligible student must be enrolled as a junior or senior in the Bachelor of Science in Electrical & Computer Engineering degree program pursuing the Cybersecurity Track, a Secure Embedded Systems (SES) Master's Program Candidate or Secure Embedded Systems (SES) Ph.D. Program Candidate. Below you may find more detailed information regarding the qualifying degree programs offered by the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering.

CyberCorps®: Scholarship for Service (SFS):

The CyberCorps Scholarship For Service (SFS) is a unique program designed to recruit and train the next generation of information technology professionals, industrial control system security professionals, and security managers to meet the needs of the cybersecurity mission for Federal, State, local, and tribal governments. This program provides scholarships for up to 3 years of support for cybersecurity undergraduate and graduate (MS or PhD) education. The scholarships are funded through grants awarded by the National Science Foundation. In return for their scholarships, recipients must agree to work after graduation for the U.S. Government, in a position related to cybersecurity, for a period equal to the length of the scholarship. Department of Defense Cyber Service Academy (DoD CSA):

The DoD Cyber Service Academy (CSA) is both a scholarship program for the DoD and a capacity building tool for the nation. The program is designed to recruit the nation’s top cyber talent to the DoD as well as retain the current cyber workforce to help secure the nation against the threats of information systems and networks. Benefits include:

  • Full tuition and fees
  • Annual stipend
    • $29,000 for undergraduates (Juniors & Seniors)
    • $34,000 for graduate students (Master's and PhD)
  • Reimbursement for required books 
  • Scholarship Duration
    • Up to two academic years (four semesters) for students in Bachelor's and Master's level degree program
    • Up to three academic years (six semesters) for students in Ph.D. program
