Baltimore Design School High School Students Visit Campus

by Morgan State U
January 26, 2024

In what is becoming a regular occurrence, the 11th and 12th-grade architecture students from the Baltimore Design School (BDS) came to visit their mentors in the School of Architecture and Planning (SA+P) at Morgan State University in Fall 2023.

The visit included a tour of the new Tyler Hall with the project Architect Bob Mock of GWWO. And in the home of SA+P, the Center for the Built Environment and Infrastructure (CBEIS), the BDS students learned about the history of Morgan with Professor of Practice Dale Green, met with each of the SA+P Undergraduate Programs, chatted with Dean Abimbola Asojo about futures in design and construction, and visited their mentor's studio desks and sat in on classes. It was a full day!

We want to recognize Morgan students, Zuleika Baldeo, Gabrielle Hall, Jonathan Karanja, Ashley Mercadal, Kanna Mezgebu, Jasmine Patterson, and Britney Philogene, who not only go to BDS most weeks to mentor these beginning designers, but worked with the 11th and 12th graders on the day of the visit to show their mentees around our school.

This visit continues our long standing partnership with the Baltimore Design School led by SA+P Faculty, Associate Professor Gabriel Kroiz, in conjuction with BDS instructors, Katie Zaeh and Dustin O'Hara.
