Department of Architecture
IPAL Program

Introduction
The School of Architecture and Planning (SA+P) is proud to be the first HBCU selected for the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB) Integrated Path to Architectural Licensure (IPAL) program. This innovative initiative offers our students a faster route to becoming licensed architects.
Designed to Increase Diversity in Design
SA+P has a long-standing mission to increase access to the architecture and environmental design professions for African American and minority students. The IPAL program directly addresses this goal by providing a clear pathway to licensure. By increasing the number of minorities in design decision-making, we benefit our students, the design professions, and the communities we serve.
Balancing Education with Experience
While pursuing their NAAB-accredited degree through our 3+2 program, IPAL students will gain valuable real-world experience through the Architectural Experience Program (AXP) working alongside a licensed architect. This allows them to start preparing for the Architect Registration Examination (ARE) concurrently, putting them on track for licensure sooner.
Is IPAL Right for You?
The IPAL program is ideal for motivated students who are eager to launch their careers in architecture. If you're interested in this accelerated path, contact us at ipal-arch@morgan.edu.
Disclaimer: This program is open to all students regardless of race, color, ethnicity, and gender. We encourage applications from all qualified candidates.
