About the Psychometrics Program
What Is Psychometrics?
Psychometrics is the science of measuring knowledge, abilities, attitudes, and traits. Our program trains students to design, analyze, and validate tests and measurement tools that support research, education, healthcare, and workforce equity.
Why Morgan State?
- We are the only HBCU offering graduate-level training in psychometrics
- Faculty expertise in culturally responsive and equity-driven methods
- Supportive, diverse community of scholars
- Prestigious internship opportunities (ETS, AIR, Census Bureau)
Because scientific research serves as the primary method of advancing theories that explain how people learn, teach, and differ from one another, program faculty emphasize scholarship in its various forms. Through internships, research apprenticeships, and scholarly writing, students are trained to transfer the knowledge they gain in the classroom to applied settings. Students in the program are particularly equipped to be responsive to the needs of those within culturally diverse environments.
