Education:

M.A. in Educational and Developmental Psychology, Andrews University
B.S. in Human Development and Family Studies, Oakwood University

Professor Otto is a former Lecturer in the Department of Psychology and now serves as an Adjunct Professor. She earned her Masters in Educational and Developmental Psychology with an emphasis in Developmental Psychology from Andrews University and a B.A. in Human Development and Family Studies from Oakwood University. At present, she is pursuing a doctoral degree in Community College Leadership. Professor Otto has also served as Program Coordinator of the National Institutes of Mental Health Career Opportunities in Research Program (NIMH-COR).


Professor Otto is a member of several divisions of the American Psychological Association. She serves division 2 of APA as Chair of the Instructional Resource Grant committee. She has also served her community as Project Coordinator for a Demonstration Grant sponsored funded by the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene to reduce Cardiovascular Disease Risk in Vulnerable Populations in Baltimore, City, Maryland. Professor Otto's present research focuses on community college students' mental health and levels of persistence.
