Dr. Warren is an Associate Professor in the Psychology Department at Morgan State University.  She also holds an adjunct appointment at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. Her research is in the areas of obesity, health promotion, health disparities, and international education.  She developed a Global Health faculty-led study abroad program in Guatemala in 2017 which has led to the development of STEAM Abroad, Inc., a non-profit licensed through Morgan State University with a mission to promote study abroad opportunities for students and faculty.  Dr. Warren conducts virtual exchange (VE)/collaborative international online learning (COIL) programs with universities in Mexico, Morocco, and El Salvador in which students engage in projects such as designing a health-related intervention and participate in activities including a culinary medicine class in which students cook a meal together created with disease-fighting ingredients.  Dr. Warren is also a co-founder of the institution’s Center for Research and Experiential Study Abroad (CRESA). She was a recipient of the 2021 Bears Beyond Borders Innovation Award and elected to the VE Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) training program team to develop Morgan State University’s first VE COIL program.  Dr. Warren was also the recipient of the MSU VE/COIL Innovation Award in recognition of achievement in creating and leading virtual global learning experiences, facilitating VE/COIL program development and study abroad in 2021.  In 2022, Dr. Warren was awarded an innovation grant to develop a student exchange with an institution in El Salvador through the 100K Strong in the Americas which funded 10 Morgan students to travel abroad and 10 Salvadoran students to visit Morgan in the Spring 2022 semester.   She is a member of the Latin American COIL Network.  In addition, she serves on the both the Internationalization of Education Task Force (IETF) and the Latinx, Latin American and Caribbean Studies (LLACS) Advisory Committee at Morgan State University, serves a reviewer for Routledge Global Student Mobility Series and Journal of International Students, regularly presents at the Maryland International Education Consortium Conference, and has attended numerous workshops on Virtual Exchange and Global Learning including the Florida International University (FIU) COIL Virtual Exchange Leadership Institute.  Dr. Warren was the recipient of the Dr. Sandye Jean McIntyre, II International Award in January of 2022.
