Dr. Winborne serves as a Psychometrician in the Morgan State University Center for Predictive Analytics and as an adjunct professor in the Graduate Program in Psychometrics. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Michigan with an academic focus on psychology, research design, and statistics. He has held faculty and administrative positions with the University of Kentucky, Howard University, Cleveland State University, Marygrove College, Bowie State University, and Morgan State University. These academic experiences are augmented by management and consulting positions with several businesses and private organizations, Ford Motor Company, the U.S. Department of Transportation, and the Kentucky Department of Education.

Dr. Winborne has an extensive academic publication record that includes over 50 refereed articles, book chapters, and technical papers. Topics included in his research portfolio cover a broad spectrum, ranging from infant development to institutional research to statistical and computer methods. He has served as chairperson or methodologist for several doctoral dissertations. His teaching experiences have primarily centered on graduate courses in statistics, psychometrics, research design, and computer programming.

Relative to his personal interests, Winborne has a strong interest in music and applied Eastern philosophy. He has studied Asian self-defense systems and traditional wellness methods, including various forms of yoga, and has written several articles on these topics. Winborne currently serves on the board of directors for the National Bando Association of America, as well as teaching self-defense throughout the U.S. and abroad. His music experiences include membership in ensembles that performed jazz, blues, and Caribbean styles.
