Architecture Student Participates in AIA Maryland Advocacy Day in Annapolis
Recently, the Maryland Chapter for American Institute of Architect (AIA Maryland) partnered with Preservation Maryland to convene a statewide delegation of history, humanities and preservation advocates in Annapolis to educate elected officials about why the State’s history is worth protecting. The organizations will be advocating for the policies, programs and funding that makes their collective work possible. Legislative meetings took place at the various offices of Maryland’s state legislators.
The School of Architecture and Planning’s Valencia McDowell, an Architecture and Environmental Design student, joined AIA Maryland members for the Chapter’s annual Legislative Luncheon at the Chapter House. Participants also attended the Maryland Historical Trust’s annual Preservation Awards and reception held at the Maryland Senate Office Building.
