The Computer Science Curriculum has a set of core courses designed to accomplish two primary objectives:  

  •  provide practical knowledge that will be of immediate use in the profession; and
  •  provide a solid foundation in theoretical computer science, so that graduates will have the fundamentals necessary to acquire knowledge in a rapidly evolving discipline.

Areas of Learning Focus

Software Engineering, Cybersecurity, Artificial Intelligence, Quantum Security, Data Science, Game/Robotics, Quantum Computing, Cloud Computing. 

Program Educational Objectives

  • PEO 1 - Within a few years after graduation, graduates of the B.S. in Computer Science program at Morgan State University will be able to apply their knowledge of computer science, mathematics, and related disciplines to analyze, design, and implement effective computing solutions that address real-world problems.
  • PEO 2 - Within a few years after graduation, our graduates will have engaged in self-study, continuing education, and professional development activities that enhance their knowledge and skills at creating new technologies and developing solutions that leverage artificial intelligence and emerging technologies.
  • PEO 3 - Within a few years after graduation, graduates of the B.S. in Computer Science program at Morgan State University will demonstrate the ability to work with other professionals as a team, and to explain and communicate their ideas effectively, both orally and in writing, with a diverse team of computing professionals, business professionals and the general public.
  • PEO 4 - Within a few years after graduation, our graduates will implement Morgan’s core values of Leadership, Innovation, Integrity, Diversity, Excellence and Respect in their professional and personal conduct.
