Dr. Richard Damoah from the Climate Science Division and Dr. Emelia Asamoah from the nursing department at Morgan State university (MSU) visited The Latin American Technical University (UTLA) in El Salvador to initiate a joint project entitled “Incidence of Environmental pollution by particulate matter PM in acute respiratory diseases and agricultural crops in El Salvador”. During their visit they presented a Non-Binding MOU between the two institutions that they helped developed to the president of UTLA Dr. Francisco Alfredo. Dr. Damoah was also the guest speaker during the inauguration of UTLA Center for Research in Environmental and Agroecological Sciences (CICAA). In his speech he reiterated the urgency of advancing knowledge, innovation, and solutions to solve one of the most pressing challenges of our time, our planet sustainability. A time when climate change, pollution, and biodiversity loss threaten not only ecosystems but the very foundations of human well-being.

Finally, Dr. Richard Damoah and Dr. Emelia Asamoah were awarded the status of International Research Associates at UTLA by the president of the institution.
