Sandra L. Grate serves as the Administrative Assistant for the Center for Continuing and Professional Studies (CCPS) at Morgan State University. A proud Morgan alumna and nontraditional student, Ms. Grate earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Relations, demonstrating her commitment to lifelong learning and academic achievement while balancing work and family responsibilities.

Ms. Grate joined the CCPS team in 2004 and has since become an indispensable member of the unit. With over two decades of experience in higher education, she plays a central role in the day-to-day operations of the Center. She is responsible for monitoring the full range of CCPS programs and activities, providing administrative coordination, and ensuring that internal processes run efficiently and effectively.

As the primary point of contact for both internal university departments and external vendors, Ms. Grate manages vendor communications, scheduling, and logistical arrangements with professionalism and poise. Her ability to plan, organize, and multitask is vital to the success of CCPS programming.

Ms. Grate’s own experience as an adult learner deeply informs her work. She brings empathy, insight, and a genuine understanding of the challenges adult learners face, which enhances her ability to support them with compassion and respect.
