WELCOME TO CASA ACADEMY!

Congratulations on your interest in Morgan State University and your commitment to pursuing your college journey! By inquiring in the CASA Academy program, you’ve taken a meaningful step toward investing in your academic success and future. This experience is designed to support, challenge, and empower you as you transition into college life.

CASA Academy is a five-week residential alternative admissions program coordinated by the Center for Academic Success and Achievement (CASA) at Morgan State University. It is designed to ease the transition from high school to college for participants whose academic profile and performance suggest the need for early intervention to improve their potential for success in college. Transitioning high school students are referred to participate in CASA Academy by the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. Students must apply to Morgan State University in order to be referred to CASA Academy.

We accept a maximum of 142 participants for each summer cohort. Participants are enrolled in non-credit-bearing courses during CASA Academy. These courses are English, Math, Analytical and Critical Reading, and an Orientation course. These courses are taught by Morgan State University faculty and their freshman academic advisor. Participants who successfully complete CASA Academy by earning a minimum grade of "C" or 70% in all of their CASA Academy courses are eligible to gain admission to the University for the subsequent fall semester.

In addition to CASA Academy courses, participants also engage in mandatory daily tutoring and enriching activities outside of the classroom weekly. The program allows participants to meet and interact with CASA staff, professors, peers, mentors, tutors, university resources, former CASA Academy participants, and alumni as well as the opportunity to explore the campus before the start of the fall semester.
