University Writing Center

Online Tutoring

The Morgan State Writing Center now provides online tutoring for qualified MSU students, staff, and faculty.

This service is synchronous and web-cam based. It utilizes apps student can already access with their university Google account. During online tutoring, students will review papers with tutors in real-time, chatting and receiving feedback as they would during an in-person session.

In order to utilize online tutoring, students must have access to a PC, laptop, or tablet with a functional internet connection, web cam, and microphone. Students will not be able to utilize online tutoring simply with a smart phone.

Online tutoring is provided on a limited, invitation-only basis. Students who can make it to the physical Center during our regular hours are expected to come in for face-to-face tutorials.

Students who are interested in receiving an invitation to online tutoring should contact the writing center by emailing writingcenter@morgan.edu. Be sure to put the phrase "Online Tutoring Request" in the email subject.

Instructors who are interested in learning more about online tutoring, or who wish to refer students to online sessions, should email the Writing Center Director, Dr. Tristan Abbott, at tristan.abbott@morgan.edu.
