University Events Office – Campus Departmental Event Reservations

The University Events Office at Morgan State University proudly supports campus departments in planning and hosting programs that enrich the student experience, strengthen university operations, and advance the mission of the National Treasure. Our team is here to help you coordinate meetings, trainings, receptions, ceremonies, and signature events across campus with professionalism, efficiency, and care.

Whether you are organizing a departmental retreat, student-focused program, academic lecture, or large-scale campus initiative, we offer a wide range of reservable venues within the University Student Center and throughout the university. Our goal is to ensure that your event has the space, resources, and support needed to be successful.

Our Services Include:

  • Event consultation and guidance on venue selection

  • Room scheduling and reservation management

  • Coordination of audiovisual and technology needs

  • Support with setup layouts and event logistics

  • Assistance with catering coordination through Sodexo Magic

  • Compliance guidance for University policies and procedures

  • Collaboration with campus partners such as Public Safety, Facilities, and Parking

How to Reserve Space

Campus departments can submit event requests through our internal reservation inquiry form. Once your form is received, a University Events Office representative will review your request and follow up regarding space availability, setup needs, and any additional required approvals. Submitting a request begins the scheduling process but does not guarantee confirmation until the office provides written approval.

Information Needed for Departmental Reservations

To streamline the coordination process, please be prepared to provide:

  • Department name and primary contact information

  • Purpose and description of the event

  • Preferred date(s), time(s), and room(s)

  • Expected number of attendees

  • Setup requirements (theater, banquet, classroom, etc.)

  • Audiovisual or technical needs

  • Catering or service requests

Important Payment Procedure for Departmental Event Requests

Please be advised of an updated payment procedure for events coordinated through the University Events Office (UEO).

Effective immediately, all departments requesting a reservation number must provide one of the following at the time of request:

  1. A confirmed method of payment, such as:

    • Purchase Order

    • Fund Request

    • Credit Card

    • Check

    • Money Order
      OR

  2. A department budget code to serve as a backup if payment is not received within policy timelines

This process supports the University Student Center’s requirement that payment be received at least three (3) business days prior to the event and ensures that all catering and related services are paid in advance.

Please Note:

  • No department funds will be charged if payment is received within the required timeframe.

  • The budget code will only be used if payment is not received on time.

  • Reservation numbers will not be issued without a confirmed payment method or backup budget code.

If you have any questions, please contact the University Events Office at 443-885-4143

Thank you for your cooperation and continued partnership.
