Biography:

Valerie C. Riggs, Ed.D. is an Assistant Professor in Morgan State University’s Department of Teacher Education and Professional Development. She specializes in artificial intelligence in education, instructional technology, and culturally responsive teaching. Her work focuses on building AI literacy among educators, promoting equitable and ethical technology use, and supporting under-prepared students in online and hybrid learning environments. Dr. Riggs also leads transformative study abroad programs that connect teacher education to the African diaspora.

Research Interest:

AI literacy, instructional technology, culturally responsive teaching, AI ethics, curriculum design, online learning, study abroad.
