MSU/JHU Engineering Courses (XEGR/TRSP 780)

This document outlines the required steps for Mitchell School of Engineering graduate students to enroll in the XEGR (or TRSP) 780 graduate-level course offered under the Johns Hopkins University (JHU) Engineering for Professionals (EP) program, based on the established JHU/MSU collaborative agreement.

Eligibility Criteria

Graduate students are eligible for this course if they are formally admitted to any Master's or Doctoral program within the Mitchell School of Engineering.

Rationale for Enrollment

Students should only pursue enrollment in the JHU course when the following criteria are met:

The desired graduate-level content is not currently being offered at MSU.
The student is unable to find an appropriate MSU graduate course in which to enroll during the specific semester.

Enrollment Procedure

The enrollment process involves two main stages: application and official approval.

Program Application: Students must first apply to the JHU EP program as detailed in the collaborative agreement documentation.
Initiate Approval Process: After applying, the student must contact their department's Graduate Program Director to initiate the formal Docusign approval process. This workflow secures all necessary departmental and institutional sign-offs required for course enrollment.

Course Limitations and Prerequisites

Course Limit - A maximum of two (2) XEGR/TRSP 780 courses can be applied toward the student's enrolled graduate program (Master's or Doctoral).
Prerequisites & Approval - The student's Research Advisor is responsible for reviewing any necessary course prerequisites and providing final approval for the student to take the requested course(s).
