Dr. Asamoah's research is centered on cardiovascular health, particularly among patients dealing with complex cardiovascular conditions. She has made significant contributions to the field through her numerous publications and presentations at respected medical associations, evidencing her dedication to advancing medical knowledge. Her work reflects a commitment to not just theoretical research but also practical applications in clinical settings, emphasizing the integration of technology within healthcare practices to enhance patient outcomes.
One of Dr. Asamoah's key research investigates the utilization of mobile applications to improve post-discharge compliance among heart failure patients. By harnessing modern technology, she aims to assist patients in effectively managing their health plans post-hospitalization. This innovative research underscores her proactive approach to addressing traditional healthcare challenges, particularly the crucial issue of patient adherence during recovery from significant cardiovascular events. Additionally, her collaboration with the National Institutes of Health on understanding the relationship between comorbidities and cardiovascular diseases, especially among those with cognitive impairments, illustrates her holistic perspective on health and its complexities.
In addition to her research about cardiovascular health, Dr. Asamoah actively participates in discussions surrounding socioeconomic and environmental determinants of health. Her publications advocate for strategies to improve cardiovascular health management through technology and address social health disparities, particularly in urban communities. Currently exploring the environmental factors affecting public health, she is involved in projects analyzing the impact of air pollution on health outcomes in urban areas of Ghana and El Salvador. Her interdisciplinary collaborations and active engagement with health organizations emphasize her leadership and commitment to fostering comprehensive approaches to public and cardiovascular health challenges.
