The coveted distinction, reserved for doctoral institutions with very high research activity, helps universities recruit top faculty members and scholars and win prestigious research grants. Anonymous Donor Gifts Morgan $2.75 Million to Increase Access to a College Education and Support Student Success

Morgan State University President David K. Wilson announced the receipt of a new $2.5-million gift from a donor who wishes to remain anonymous. The latest gift follows an initial $250,000 from the donor, made in October. The total of $2.75 million in resources will be invested in students, providing access to a college education for as many as 83 scholars per semester through the establishment of the Leading the Future scholarship fund.

Morgan State’s Tyrone Wheatley to Coach in Senior Bowl as Part of New Minority Coaching Fellowship Program

Morgan State football coach Tyrone Wheatley will coach in the 73rd annual Senior Bowl, which is set to take place Feb. 5 in Mobile, Alabama. The Senior Bowl is a college football all-star game and a crucial part of the NFL draft process. The game will consist of some of the nation’s top seniors, who will be coached by staff members from the New York Jets and Detroit Lions.
