Morgan State University to Build 604-Bed Student Housing Complex

Morgan State University plans to build a new residential tower to house more than 600 students, a necessity for one of the fastest-growing schools in the region. The 604-bed tower will be built adjacent to the recently completed Thurgood Marshall Housing complex and a 30,000-square-foot dining hall. The additional tower is projected to cost $110 million, according to documents filed with the Maryland Board of Public Works.

Larry Gibson, an attorney and historian, was personally asked to curate the new student housing complex at Morgan State University in honor of Baltimore native Thurgood Marshall. The exhibits to his legacy are located on each floor of the building for students to ponder.

'Opportunity to Relax': Morgan State Regroups with Day of 'Wellness'

Morgan State University students are back in the classroom after a "Wellness Day." The college takes two days per semester where there are no assignments, papers due or exams. The purpose is to relieve stress while encouraging students to take care of themselves and others. For many students, college is stressful. Some students are juggling classes and extracurricular activities.
