Dr. Nnemkadi Akinwale successfully defended her dissertation on March 3, exploring how comprehensive sex education (CSE) impacts young Black women’s birthing experiences in hospitals within abstinence-based states. Her research highlights systemic barriers in Black maternal health and proposes an education-based framework to better equip women for childbirth and advocacy.
