SA+P Welcomes New Faculty
The School of Architecture and Planning would like to welcome the following new faculty to the Morgan State Family:
Cristina Murphy, Assistant Professor in Architecture, is joining Morgan after being on the faculty at the University of Arizona and the University of Nebraska, where she was the Hyde Chair of Excellence in Architecture for the fall semester of 2016. In 2009, Cristina Murphy co‐founded XCOOP, a think tank that through its flexible and permeable approach, analysis contemporary living and provides creative solutions within a wide range of disciplines. Her research interests include Urban (in)Equity, Designing the Countryside, Social re-qualification, Social Dynamics vs the Built Environment, Designing in upcoming counties, Participatory Design.
Dr. Kamalesh Panthi, Assistant Professor, will be teaching in the Department of Construction Management. Before joining the faculty at Morgan, Dr. Panthi taught at East Carolina University. His teaching interests include Construction Scheduling, Risk Management, Construction Materials, and Concrete.
Dr. Lewis Waller is the new interim chair for the Construction Management department. Dr. Waller has over 35 years of experience in teaching and working in the construction industry. In 1994, he started his career as a graduate Teaching Assistant at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University where he later became an Assistant Professor until May 2017. His academia construction related assignments include residential building, construction research, and construction teaching. While at North Carolina A&T, Lewis served as the Construction Management Department Advisory Board Coordinator, which reviewed the curriculum and objectives of the CM program to meet the guidelines for American Council for Construction Education (ACCE).
