SA+P Students win Graduate Research Awards
Students from the Department of Graduate Built Environment Studies (Master of Architecture, Master of City & Regional Planning, Master of Landscape Architecture) in the School of Architecture and Planning (SA+P) won BIG at the inaugural Graduate Research, Interdisciplinary Network, and Development (GRIND) Conference on March 17, 2017.
Sponsored by the Morgan State University Graduate Student Association, the GRIND Conference is an avenue for Morgan State graduate students to share their research with each other and the greater community. The conference included a 3-minute thesis competition, poster competitions, and doctoral panels, and presentations from interdisciplinary teams of faculty, staff, alumni and the professional community.
Scheduled guest speakers included Morgan's President David Wilson and Assistant Professor of Multimedia Journalism, Dr. Stacey Patton.
The SA+P award winners are as follows:
Shanice Brickhouse (M.L.A) for her work entitled, "People & Landscape: An Inclusive Challenge -- received the RESEARCH VISUALIZATION AWARD
Abigail Leonard (M.L.A) for her work entitled, "Research Fellowship: Cultural Preservation in Design, a case study on equitable development in Baltimore -- received the COMMUNITY-BASED RESEARCH AWARD
Zahra Williams (M.Arch) for her work entitled, "Reconsidering the Streetscape: A Case for Continuing Renewal Through Neighborhoods -- received the INTERDISCIPLINARY RESEARCH AWARD
