Morgan Biology Professor Tapped For NIH Study Section

Morgan State University’s Dr. Gerald A. Rameau has been selected to serve as a member of the Synapses, Cytoskeleton and Trafficking Study Section. Rameau is an associate professor in Morgan’s Department of Biology. He was selected to serve because of his “demonstrated competence and achievement in [his] scientific discipline as evidenced by the quality of [his] research accomplishments,” according to the Center’s Dr. Richard Nakamura.

The Synapses, Cytoskeleton and Trafficking Study Section is part of the National Institutes of Health’s (NIH) Center for Scientific Review. Among other things, members of the study section review grant applications to the NIH and make recommendations.

“This is a prestigious appointment,” said Dr. Rameau. “It is a unique opportunity for me to make a major contribution to the national biomedical research effort. I am honored and pleased to serve.”

Dr. Rameau’s appointment to the NIH study section runs through June 30, 2018.
