Biography:

Prof. Joel Weymouth is a lecturer in the Department of Information Science & Systems. Professor Weymouth received a bachelor's degree from Thomas Edison State University in Computer Science and a master’s in computer information systems with a concentration in Business Intelligence and Database Analytics from Boston University. He has just recently begun teaching. Previously, he has been in the industry and has experience in banking, retail, manufacturing, engineering, and insurance.   

Professor Weymouth's accomplishments in the business realm include: Developed Intelligent Engines to identify fraud in Workers Compensation (Liberty Mutual), Long Term Disability (Unum-Provident), Medicare (Blue Cross Blue Shield Of Alabama), and retail (LL Bean). He also assisted on of the first interfaces of an RDBMS within a scripting language (LL Bean) and an early e-commerce website (LL Bean – 1993).


Research Interests:

AI in Education; Data Science; CyberSecurity; Bare Machine and Bare Metal Research.
