The Pre-Professional Physical Therapy (PPPT) Advisement Track provides the comprehensive undergraduate curriculum along with essential academic and career advisement sessions for the student seeking a career in an Allied Health field, such as: Physical Therapy (PT), Occupational Therapy  (OT), or Athletic Training (AT).  The comprehensive academic catalog includes: university-required general courses (including electives), physical and biologic science requirements, as well as 5 Track-Specific courses that combine didactic and psychomotor components affording the student strong mastery of Human Anatomy as well as fundamental knowledge and clinical applications in: Athletic Training, Therapeutic Modalities, Exercise Physiology, Functional Human Anatomy, and a Capstone Field Internship course --assigned according the student’s specific Allied Health area of interest (e.g. PT, OT, or AT).

The 120-credit curriculum satisfies university requirements for a BS Degree in Health Education and is awarded by the School of Community Policy and Health. The curriculum also satisfies academic prerequisites for most all US Masters in Athletic Training Programs.   The curriculum along with 11 additional credits in Psychology and Physics (with Labs) satisfies undergraduate prerequisites for students seeking admission to most all US Clinical Doctorate programs in Physical (DPT) and Occupational Therapy (DOT) programs.

Course and lab instruction for the 5 Track-Specific courses, advisement, and curricular content involvement is from an experienced academician and MD-licensed practitioner of Physical Therapy.   Student enrollees also receive regular notifications for extracurricular opportunities (e.g. research involvement, job placement information, Open House and community healthcare events).
