Biography:

Dr. Julaine Rigg is an Associate Professor in the Business Administration Department in the Earl G. Graves School of Business and Management. She is also the Coordinator for the Hospitality Management Program. Dr. Rigg holds a Ph.D., an MSc, and a BSc in Hospitality and Tourism Management from Purdue University. She also hold a Diploma in Human Resource Management. As the Coordinator of the Hospitality Management Program she oversees the day to day operation of the unit and has secured over $200,000 in funding for the program within her two year tenure.  She has an eclectic research portfolio and has conducted research in areas such as health communication, medical tourism, and employee engagement, with her worked featured in various referred academic journals. She sits on the editorial board of the Consortium Journal of Hospitality and Tourism and is the current University Liaison for the Eastern Academy of Management.  Dr. Rigg has taught in many different areas such Hospitality and Tourism, Marketing and Organizational Behavior.

Prior to her tenure at Morgan State, Dr. Rigg worked as the Manager/Principal of the HEART Trust/NTA, a tertiary level technical and vocational training institution in Jamaica. She was also employed as the Operations Manager in charge of border security at the Air and Sea ports in Jamaica. Before that,  Dr. Rigg worked as a Protocol Hostess at the Jamaica Tourist Board for 13 years.  Dr. Rigg is currently a member of various associations, to include the Eastern Academy of Management, and the International Tourism Studies Association (ITSA). She currently sits on the Visit Baltimore Foundation Board.
