Dr. Phyllis Keys, Professor of Finance, has taught at Morgan State since 2006. She received a Bachelor of Engineering from the University of Mississippi, an MBA from Jackson State University, and her PhD in Finance from Florida State University. She is a Certified Financial Manager and a Certified Management Accountant. She completed the Boston University Financial Planning Program and successfully completed the exam for the Certified Financial Planner.

She has received several honors and awards, including the IMA Educational Case Journal's Gold Award for a coauthored case and the Journal of Financial Research's Outstanding Article Award for a coauthored research article. She also received a Certificate of Teaching Appreciation from the Morgan State student chapter of the National Association of Black Accountants.

Dr. Keys enjoys traveling and has made presentations to students in Ghana, Botswana, and China. She has also given research presentations at conferences in several countries on topics related to diversity, corporate governance, and mergers/acquisitions.
