Chapter 35: Survivors and Dependents Educational Assistance (DEA)
Survivors' and Dependents' Educational Assistance (Chapter 35) and the Marine Gunnery Sergeant John David Fry Scholarship program were created to provide educational assistance benefits to the eligible dependents and survivors of veterans who have met the following parameters:
The Marine Gunnery Sergeant John David Fry Scholarship (Fry Scholarship)
Currently available for children and surviving spouses of those service members who died in the line of duty while on active duty after September 10, 2001. Beneficiaries may receive up to 36 months of benefits at the 100% level. View specifics on the time frames and length of benefits.
The Survivors' and Dependents' Educational Assistance (DEA) Program
Offers education and training opportunities to eligible dependents of Veterans who are permanently and totally disabled due to a service-related condition or of Veterans who died while on active duty or as a result of a service-related condition. Eligibility dates and length of benefits is contingent upon specific requirements.

Approved and want to get an enrollment processed and submitted to the Department of Veterans Affairs to complete the mandatory MILITARY FUNDING REQUEST FORM for each term that you want to utilize this benefit.
