Dr. Hossain Mohiuddin is a postdoctoral researcher and adjunct faculty at the Department of Transportation and Urban Infrastructure Studies at Morgan State University. He earned his PhD in Transportation Technology and Policy from the University of California, Davis in 2024. Prior to that, Dr. Mohiuddin earned his MS in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Iowa in 2019 and a Bachelor's in Urban and Regional Planning from the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology. Dr. Mohiuddin’s research focuses on examining the impacts of emerging new mobility services and technologies on individuals’ attitudes and perceptions, mobility choices, and travel behavior. Dr. Mohiuddin utilizes big data analytics, machine learning, geographic information systems, and behavioral modeling to examine adoption preferences and emission-related benefits associated with emerging smart mobility services. Apart from new mobility services, Dr. Mohiuddin also conducted research on first and last mile access planning for public transit, operational efficiency evaluation of heavy rail systems, bicycle and pedestrian planning, and decarbonizing last mile logistics. Dr. Mohiuddin was awarded multiple grants as PI and co-PI from the United States Department of Transportation, Institute of Transportation Studies Statewide Transportation Research Program, and Bangladesh Institute of Planners. Dr. Mohiuddin also contributed to research projects funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF), the California Department of Transportation, and the World Conference on Transport Research Society (WCTRS). Dr. Mohiuddin published more than 20 scientific articles in top-rated journals, gave presentations and invited talks at conferences such as the Annual Meeting for the Transportation Research Board and Association of Collegiate School of Planning, and reviewed articles for more than 20 scientific journals.
